2. Data sources

To kick off this second part of the course, let's try drawing a comparison between working on our platform and working in the kitchen.

Imagine you're about to prepare dinner at home. The "Data" here would be like having all your raw ingredients measured out. Just like when you shop at the grocery store, you might have made a list and figured out what you need for a meal.

The process is quite similar when it comes to "Data." Specifically, the first step in creating a content automation workflow is to upload or sync a dataset (in CSV format) with the platform. This ensures that the data points contained within can be properly mapped and used to create content in the subsequent steps.

The platform operates exclusively with the CSV format; it doesn't support any other format at this time.

Also just like cooking, you consider how many servings you'll be making. Similarly, know that every row in the data set will generate one narrative. That is to say if you are introducing a data set with three rows to the platform, expect to have three distinct content pieces created by the time you're done, each with the data points and context from its particular row.
